The compulsory wearing of the mask outside is extended Wednesday August 25 to 29 municipalities of Côtes-d'Armor, especially on the coast, after a 66% jump in the incidence rate in three weeks in this department, the most affected of Brittany, announced the prefect.

From August 25, 2021, and until September 26 inclusive, (...) the wearing of a mask becomes compulsory for any pedestrian over the age of 11
", indicated the prefecture of Côtes-d'Armor in a communicated.
The measure will apply "
in built-up areas
" of certain municipalities, "
with the exception of parks and gardens, natural spaces and beaches
".
The obligation is in effect from “
7:30 am to 10 pm,
” the statement added.
A health situation which "deteriorates significantly"
The cities of Lannion, Perros-Guirec, Paimpol, Saint-Brieuc and Dinan are particularly concerned, but also certain municipalities with more than 5,000 inhabitants not located on the coast, such as the city of Guingamp.

Regardless of these new directives, the prefecture has drawn up a list of "
situations
" in which the wearing of a mask "
remains compulsory outdoors
". This is particularly the case for markets, second-hand goods, in queues, near bus and train stations or landing stages. "
Controls will be strengthened to ensure the implementation of these measures,
" warned the prefecture. Failure to comply with the compulsory mask is punishable by a fine of 135 euros.
