Miesbach - In September and October 2021, the solidarity community Oberland will present regional products at the “FAIR consumer” weeks.

Also in the Edeka Miesbach.

“Small steps can make a big difference in climate protection,” the Oberland community of solidarity makes clear.

And shows right away how that can work.

With the “FAIR consumer” campaign weeks in autumn, the initiative will provide information on the subject of conscious consumption.

“From the region, for the region and the whole world” is the motto.

The aim of the solidarity community Oberland has always been to preserve the livelihoods of people, animals and plants in the region.

This is exactly what is achieved by buying regional and seasonal food.

Short transport routes protect the environment in the region.

And so they also contribute to global climate protection.

Various autumn actions

For many years the volunteer members have been committed to raising awareness and encouraging people to become “FAIR consumers”.

Various campaigns will now take place in September and October.

Adriane Schua, chairwoman of the solidarity community Oberland, presented the campaign at a meeting at Edeka in Miesbach.

Deputy District Administrator Jens Zangenfeind and Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller were there.

They were impressed by the campaign and pledged their support in making the topic known.

“The issue of climate protection is very important, especially against the background of recent events.

Often the individual asks himself what he can move.

This is where you have to start, because this small contribution is very important.

The campaign shows that it is important to support regional producers, ”said Zangenfeind.

Where food comes from

Braunmiller added: “I really like the motto 'Global climate protection begins in the region' because it is very appropriate.

When I go shopping, I always pay attention to where the groceries come from.

The association's goal of the non-profit solidarity community - preserving the livelihoods of people, animals and plants - actually says everything, it doesn't get any better. "

Tips and suggestions on the topic can be found at www.unserland.info and on the network's social media channels, as well as a competition.

As a good example, the solidarity community names their “Our Land Bio Milch”, which comes from the Thalham catchment area: “There, the Miesbacher Land dairy farmers protect the quality of the drinking water through careful and sustainable management.

So everyone who buys the milk also contributes to drinking water protection. "

Valuable contribution to climate protection

Adriane Schua calls the current campaign a great opportunity to communicate with the people in the region about the important topic of climate protection despite Corona.

Every consumer can be proud to be recognized as a 'FAIR consumer'.

“It's in our hands,” she says.

"Or better: in the shopping basket."

Because with the right food in it, everyone makes a valuable contribution to climate protection and against climate change.

As an award for fair consumers, the solidarity community distributed cloth bags made from recycled materials.

They were made in the therapy workshop of the St. Wolfgang care center.
