No surprise: Endgame in Salzburg, the defending champion in front of the out - of - the - way Headlines, which vanished in less than an hour by a double strike by Naby Keita and Mohamed Salah. The first half: It was from the beginning the expected spectacle with chances on both sides. Salah awarded twice (5th minute and 29th), the hosts came through the ex-Hamburger Hwang Hee-chan (7th) and Erling Håland (24th) on good occasions. Keita missed the last chance in injury time first half.

The second half: Again, both teams did not have much time to breathe: Salah had two more promising opportunities (48th and 50th), Håland put the ball from half-left position only just past the left post. Naby Keita scored the lead after Sadio Mané's lead

The returnees: The Liverpool Sadio Mané and Keita returned to their former workplace. Mané wore the Salzburg jersey between 2012 and 2014, while Keita played for RB from 2014 to 2016. The redeeming 1: 0 was a co-production of the two: Mané penetrated with a lot of speed half left into the box, was not irritated by the rushing out RB goalkeeper Cican Stankovic and crossed great for the waiting in the back room Keita, who finished with a header.

History repeats itself: Let's take a look back at the sixth group match day of the 2018/2019 Champions League season: Liverpool had to win against Napoli to qualify for the knockout round. The Reds won 1-0, were due to the more scored goals in spite of three defeats on and were six months later winner of the premier class. At least the difficulties in the fall have been repeated before.

History does not repeat itself: In the 2012/2013 season with Chelsea Chelsea for the last time a reigning Champions League winner in the group stage. And the Reds have a black spot in their history: In September 1978 they failed as defending champion in the first round of the European Cup of Champions. Statistics that may now disappear again in the poison cabinet.

The pink glasses: streaming provider Dazn offered in addition to the German commentary to celebrate the day also an Austrian. A challenge for the inclined spectator, who was greeted by Christian Brugger and Oliver Lederer directly with a "We are crossing our fingers for the pink Austrian glasses in Salzburg". The following 90 minutes, however, were accompanied much more confidently and more balanced than was feared. A rewarding experiment.
