As has only just become known, there was an incident at United Initiators, the chemical company in Höllriegelskreuth, at the end of September.
Chemicals had spilled into the sewers.
Pullach
- The incident happened on September 20th.
Accordingly, there was probably a problem in the company's wastewater treatment plant.
With the effect that chemicals have entered the normal sewage system.
"The detected substances were classified as toxic and also had an intense odor," Mayor Susanna Millennium (Greens) reported in the municipal council.
Fluctuating utilization may be the trigger
“At no time”, however, was there a risk to the population, and the environment was not affected either.
The whole thing was remedied by "immediate measures of a chemical nature", which the city drainage also agreed to.
The reason for the disruption, said company spokesman Maximilian Heller when asked, were "delivery bottlenecks" that resulted in "fluctuating utilization of our production facilities".
The wastewater treatment was temporarily overwhelmed.
