Beijing-Sana

China announced the imposition of sanctions on Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Agni Vaisikevisiot after her visit to Taiwan, noting that the visit is a violation of the "one China" principle.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said in a statement that the visit of Vice Minister of Transport and Communications of Lithuania Vaisikevisiot to Taiwan is a violation of the "one-China" principle and a serious interference in China's internal affairs and undermines its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The statement added: In response to the scandalous and provocative act carried out by the Lithuanian official, China decided to impose sanctions on her and suspend all forms of exchange with the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Lithuania and suspend exchange and cooperation with Lithuania in the field of international road transport.

China has repeatedly expressed its strong opposition to certain countries' attempt to distort the "one China" principle, describing these attempts as illegal and invalid, stressing that there is only one China and Taiwan is a part of it, and the government of the People's Republic of China is the only legitimate government representing all of China.
