Icking – At the recent annual meeting of the Independent Citizens' List of Icking (UBI), founding member Josef Mock announced his resignation.

He is followed by Laura Pauli.

After a comprehensive activity report by the board of directors on the events since the last members' representative meeting in October 2019, board elections were now pending.

The previous deputy chairman Stefan Schneider was elected chairman of the UBI.

Dagmar Fritz was also unanimously confirmed as secretary and Johannes Voit as treasurer.

In addition, Fritz and Voit are now both acting as deputies for the UBI.

Schneider then thanked the former mayor of the municipality of Icking and UBI founding member, Margit Menrad, who was the mayor of the municipality of Icking for 14 years, for her municipal commitment and her work at UBI.

Founding member Georg Linsinger was also praised for his many years of work on the UBI board.

Schneider emphasized: "Linsinger made a significant contribution to the electoral success of the UBI in the last local elections and, in particular, set a monument for Icking with the fiber optic network project."

Schneider also thanked the outgoing board members, the incumbent mayor Verena Reithmann and the deputy mayor Claudia Roederstein, for their many years of great commitment.

Roederstein and Reithmann had already announced in advance that they would no longer stand for election in order to rejuvenate the board and realign the coming years.

Mock is leaving the Icking municipal council after 26 years

At the end of the meeting there was another big surprise: the founding member of the UBI, Sepp Mock, resigned after 26 years on the municipal council in Icking.

After the upcoming municipal council meeting on May 23, Mock would like to resign from the board.

The request for resignation had already been submitted to Reithmann in writing.

Schneider thanked him emphatically for his decades of work in the UBI and on the municipal council: "You always got involved in what was happening in town."

Mock's successor will be Laura Pauli from Walchstadt as the youngest member of the municipal council.

The 25-year-old master's student had previously studied sociology and communication science.

"I am extremely pleased that Laura Pauli will be a representative of the next generation on the municipal council," said Schneider.
