They are called C4 X and ë-C4 X Elettrica, the news from Citroën that aims at customers looking for an alternative to hatchbacks and mid-size SUVs.
Keeping the line of the new C5 X, the design of the ë-C4 X and C4 X points to the compromise between the elegance of a fastback silhouette, the modern look of an SUV and the space on board a 4-door.

Speaking of the energy transition, Citroën has also chosen to offer only the electric ë-C4 X model in many of its European markets, where sales of electrified vehicles are already more mature.
With a 100 kW engine and a range of up to 360 km in the WLTP cycle, the ë-C4 X, thanks to the large 510-liter boot, also winks at the sector of professional drivers and private rental companies.
Customers who prefer a thermal engine, in international markets and in some European countries, will be able to choose, for the New C4 X, between PureTech petrol or BlueHDi diesel engines.
With a length of 4,600 mm, the new ë-C4 X and C4 X fit into the Citroën range, positioning itself between the C4 hatchback, 4,360 mm long, and the C5 X, 4,800 mm long.
The wheelbase of 2.67 m is identical to that of the Citroën C4 hatchback (both are based on the CMP platform).
The new ë-C4 X and C4 X models will be produced exclusively in Europe for all markets at the Stellantis plant in Villaverde (near Madrid, Spain) and sales will begin gradually starting in autumn 2022.
