Citroën unveiled the
new C3
, the model that will begin to be sold in the country during the first quarter of 2022. It will arrive from
Brazil
to replace the current
C3 and C3 Aircross
and compete in the popular compact hatchback segment, which in our country has a 26% stake.
The new C3 will be manufactured at the Porto Real plant, based on the
global CMP platform
that, for example, the Peugeot 208 that is manufactured in Argentina has.
It is worth noting that it will be offered as the entry model to the Citroën range and that it will be
the first of three unpublished vehicles that the French brand will manufacture in South America
and will launch within the next three years as part of its strategic growth plan in the region.
Bi-tone body, Trunk with a capacity of 300 liters.
A different C3
During the unveiling of the product, which was carried out virtually, the brand's spokesmen stressed that "it is a model
5-door with SUV codes but with an economical price. "It measures 4 meters long and is characterized by having a higher floor clearance than its competitors. The trunk, for its part, has a capacity of
300 liters
.
Although its name is Citroën C3, it is not the same model that is marketed in Europe, since it is the result of a development (called C-Cubo) between the Brazilian and Indian subsidiaries, where the model will also be produced.
Aimed at a young audience, the brand emphasizes that the most important quality of its structure is the
interior space
, since although it is a compact, its habitability is very good, as is the driving position that is characterized by being something higher.
Inside, in addition to space, the large 10-inch screen stands out.
The engines and prices were not disclosed, nor the versions that will be available for our market as their trim levels.
It was anticipated that the new C3 will offer a multimedia system with a
10-inch screen
that, among other functions, will concentrate Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and an updated version of the Mirror Screen that will allow duplicating smartphone applications wirelessly.
As for its competitors, the new Citroën C3 will be measured against models such as
Chevrolet Onix, Renault Sandero, Toyota Yaris
and
Volkswagen Polo
.
