The third vice president and Minister of Labor sees in Cs the last option to validate the text in Congress

The reluctance of the second vice president and Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz, to count on Ciudadanos to validate the labor reform in Congress, has not made the party of Inés Arrimadas give up its efforts to show its support for a text agreed by all labor agents. The president of Cs has reaffirmed this Friday the predisposition of her formation to vote in favor of the decree law for the sake of the "general interest", and has once again claimed her formation as an alternative to "nationalists" and "populists". This was emphasized by Arrimadas during his speech: “[In Podemos] they are very uncomfortable with a liberal and sensible party like us. You don't have to think about what Yolanda Díaz wants. You have to think about what is good for the Spanish. For this government, of Podemos within,we can hit a snag in the teeth [with this reform]”, he pointed out during his speech at an informative breakfast organized by Nueva Economía Fórum.

From Cs they have been insisting for days on offering their support to the text, both for "state responsibility", and to avoid "concessions to nationalists" that end up "worsening" the reform that finally comes out of Congress. The nine deputies of Ciudadanos are not enough to carry out the text in the lower house, but the PSOE has explored the route of the Arrimadas party after some of its usual parliamentary partners have shown their refusal, considering the decree law insufficient.

The Cs option does not like United We Can. Díaz's priority is to look for formulas that precisely satisfy the ERC and PNV without having to resort to Ciudadanos as a last option. Meanwhile, La Moncloa has not yet picked up the phone or met with the Arrimadas party, as sources from the leadership assure, who are in favor of talking with the Executive and remind Díaz that "time is running" against him.

“It is true that this agreement [the labor reform] is very improvable, but it could be much worse. The danger in general is that this gets worse”, Arrimadas has stated before the possibility that the Government introduces amendments at the request of its partners. Ciudadanos has taken advantage of the situation of the regulatory reform, which has the PP against it, to intensify its fight against the president of the Popular Party, Pablo Casado, with whom they maintain an open battle after the breakup of the government in coalition of Castilla y León. “There are other parties that will be rubbing their hands, hoping that Bildu and Esquerra put a spoonful into this labor reform in order to criticize Sánchez. What we want is to prevent Bildu and Esquerra from further chopping up the labor market”, warned the leader of Cs.

The refusal of the usual partners of the Government to validate the labor reform, added to the vote against the PP, has opened a space for Citizens to resignify themselves on a political board in which they barely moved.

A strategy praised by the expert in Political Communication, Verónica Fumanal, in the face of the open crisis in the party for months, with the polls plummeting at the national level —the poll published by 40dB.

this Sunday he grants them between two and three deputies in Congress—, and in Castilla y León, where the latest polls barely give him a regional parliamentarian.

For Fumana, the party needs a "refoundation" and a "repositioning".

Elections in Castilla y León

The Cs candidate for the Junta de Castilla y León, Francisco Igea, has also attended the event in Madrid, who in addition to promising the abolition of the inheritance tax for second-degree relatives, has ruled that he will "never" make president until recently. less than a month his partner in the regional government, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco. “I can guarantee two things: that [that Mañueco will not be president if it depends on Ciudadanos] and that we are all mortals”, Igea ironically when asked in the forum. Party sources support the refusal of the former vice president of the Board before Mañueco, although they confirm that, if decisive, the Popular Party could count on their votes if they present an alternative candidate.

After a long history of disagreements, Igea has the "full support" of the national leadership as head of the list for the upcoming elections on February 13.

A "unit" that will materialize this weekend, at the start of the pre-campaign.

The deputy mayor of Madrid will support Igea this Saturday in Cebreros (Ávila) and the party's spokesman in Congress, Edmundo Bal, will do the same on Sunday, in Salmanca.

From Ciudadanos, despite the polls, they trust in the battle of the speech against the "betrayal" of Mañueco.

"I ask citizens not to settle for what they have had for the last 30 years," Arrimadas has settled.
