The Grenoble Court of Appeal on Monday released the manager of a nightclub in Isère where, during the first confinement, clandestine evenings had taken place despite health restrictions, we learned Thursday from a judicial source , confirming information from Dauphiné Libéré.
The court also dismissed the company managing the establishment, which had been sentenced in the first instance to a fine of 20,000 euros for the purposes of the proceedings.
On January 22, the Vienna court sentenced the manager of this nightclub located in Grenay, in the north of the department, to an eight-month suspended prison sentence for "
endangering the lives of others
".
At the first instance hearing, on January 8, she had assured that she had been "
aware of nothing
".
Considered as the main organizer of the evenings and already known to the courts, his 20-year-old brother had been sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of 500 euros.

At the bar of the court, the son of the founder of this family discotheque had minimized the events, simply evoking "
meetings between friends
" having gathered according to him "
70 to 80 people
". However, these evenings took place in the greatest discretion: video surveillance had been deactivated, photos were prohibited, payments were made exclusively in cash and vehicles were parked out of sight.
The Grenoble Court of Appeal finally sentenced him to six months in prison. In its judgment rendered on September 13, cited by the Dauphiné Libéré, it considers that "
it is with full knowledge of the facts
" that the young man gathered "
a large number of young people wishing to have fun
" in "
incompatible conditions of proximity. with the requirements of the law on the state of health emergency
”.
