For the Berlin citizens' initiative Klimaneustart, the exploratory paper by the SPD, the Greens and the Left for a new alliance in the capital on environmental protection does not go far enough.
Jessamine Davis, spokeswoman for the initiative, said in the daily newspaper "taz" (Monday) "very disappointed" that the parties had not spoken out clearly against the further construction of the A100.
Berlin - Further construction is a "wrong signal, because more roads also mean more traffic," she said.
In the exploratory paper, the parties agreed to complete the 16th section of the Autobahn 100.
"The construction of the 17th construction phase will not be pushed forward by the state government in the new legislative period," it says there.
According to the plans for the new three-party alliance under SPD top candidate Franziska Giffey, however, climate protection should become a "cross-cutting issue" with its own Senate committee.
"We welcome that," said Davis.
The Klimaneustart initiative is promoting a referendum with others.
According to the will of the alliance, the Berlin Energy Transition Act should stipulate that the city will be climate-neutral as early as 2030 - and not, as previously planned, by 2050.
