In a serious accident on Highway 71 in southern Thuringia, five people were seriously injured. The 65-year-old driver had strayed to the right of the road with a coach on Sunday at Rentwertshausen, the police said.
The bus broke through a guardrail and tipped sideways into a ditch. According to recent findings of the police, five people were seriously injured and others slightly injured. A rescue helicopter was in action. Nothing is known about the cause of the accident.
The A71 remained on Sunday afternoon in the direction of Schweinfurt initially completely blocked. The traffic was redirected. In the coach 22 people were traveling.
