Since Saturday employers and unions have been advising about more money for more than one million employees in the federal states.
The will to reach agreement is there, but the negotiations are dragging on.
Potsdam - The collective bargaining for the civil service of the federal states is being extended.
As spokesman for the Verdi union and the collective bargaining community of the federal states (TdL) announced in Potsdam, the talks would continue tomorrow morning at 10.30 a.m.
The deliberations should continue into the night.
Representatives of trade unions and federal states have been looking for a solution to the deadlocked collective bargaining dispute since Saturday in the possibly decisive third round of negotiations.
Over the weekend, both sides repeatedly emphasized their willingness to reach an agreement.
A Verdi spokesman spoke of unchanged difficult negotiations.
The collective bargaining community of the federal states (TdL) had submitted an offer.
The topics would now be processed step by step, it was then said from the negotiating circles.
Content-related information on the specific sticking points was not given.
Five percent more salary required
The unions have been negotiating with the countries since October about better pay for more than one million public sector workers.
These are, for example, employees of university clinics, the police, fire departments, daycare centers and schools.
Verdi and the official association dbb are demanding a wage increase of five percent, but at least 150 euros more per month - 300 euros for employees in the health sector.
Union representatives point to the increased consumer prices and the particular burdens on employees in the corona pandemic.

Restrictions due to warning strike at Jena University Hospital
Because of a warning strike, there were restrictions at the Jena University Hospital on Thursday.
Less than half of the 22 operating theaters were in operation and various outpatient departments were unable to carry out routine treatments, the clinic announced.
According to the Verdi union, around 150 employees took part in the strike.

The federal states had described the demands as unrealistic and pointed to the high pandemic-related expenditures to support the health care system, the economy and the municipalities.
The union demands would therefore result in additional spending of around 7.5 billion euros.
If the talks fail, a strike would theoretically be possible.
The unions had recently already put pressure on with warning strikes at university hospitals but also at daycare centers and schools, in police departments and in administrations.
In the event of a non-agreement, however, it is more likely that the negotiations will be postponed, as the negotiating circles said.
