Colombia and the FARC: the road to reconciliation 1:39
(CNN Spanish) -
At least five Colombian Army soldiers died this Tuesday after an attack in the municipality of Puerto Libertador, in the department of Córdoba, according to Colombian authorities.
"We reject the attack in which five soldiers of the Homeland were assassinated in Puerto Libertador, Córdoba, presumably at the hands of the 'Clan del Golfo'," the Army wrote on its Twitter account.
According to the Ombudsman's Office, five soldiers were also injured in the attack when the military "were attacked with explosive devices by an illegal armed group."
"We expect speed in the investigations by the authorities to find those responsible for this crime," the Ombudsman wrote in a tweet.
For his part, Defense Minister Diego Molano also regretted the fact.
"Homeland pain for cowardly attack against soldiers," wrote the official on his social networks.
