Enthusiasm and strength was the most prominent title of the fourth periodic speed race for purebred Arabian horses, which was established by the Syrian Association of Arabian Horses on the Levant Racecourse in Dimas in cooperation with the Arabian Horses Office at the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform.
The voices of Al-Asala sports fans rose from the beginning of the race to its end, which gave the Arabian horses more impulse, and the last few seconds were the decisive factor in most of the runs.
The first half dedicated to pure Syrian Arab horses, the mare (Saqlawiya Al-Farah) was decided by its owner Charbel Farah, while the horse (Cub Al-Badr) for owners Safwan Assaf and Ziad Al-Kurdi came first in the second half for registered Arab horses, knowing that the two halves were held for a distance of 1000 meters separately, while the two-half competitions ended The third for pure Syrian horses for a distance of 1450 meters, with the victory of the horse (Maarouf Al-Salman) for its owner Ahmed Qazmouz, and the horse (Kabir Arida) for the sons of Fayez Arida won first place in the fourth race of a distance of 1600 meters for registered Arab horses. For the fifth run for a distance of 1600 meters for the pure Syrian horses.
The director of the association, Eng. Muhammad Al-Wadi, said in a statement to SANA’s sports representative, “The race was held with the participation of 47 horses from various Arabian horses, and witnessed strong competitions that showed the advanced level of Arab horses in Syria,” adding that the calendar of races this season is diverse, especially with the entry of the Latakia race track to The competition streak again after an 11-year hiatus, which gave breeders an incentive to compete vigorously for the first places and gain more points until the end of the season.
Member of the Society, Dr. Tariq Abdel Rahim, pointed to the good preparation of Arab horses and the keenness of breeders to participate in the association’s races, which is an important opportunity to showcase the strength of their horses and what has been produced through breeding purebred breeds throughout the year, in addition to racing for prizes for the first three places, which helps them fill part of the The costs of the pre-competition preparation process.
A number of attendees pointed out the importance of the race in encouraging the breeding of Arab horses because of its historical position rooted in Syrian society for many years, noting that they also raced to find out the winning horse while anticipating the last seconds of the finish line.
The association had organized the third periodic race at the Lattakia track, with a wide participation of 53 horses.
