Figures released today revealed that the consumer confidence index in the euro zone fell 3.8 points in September from the figure recorded in August.
Reuters quoted the European Commission as saying: The estimates showed that the consumer sentiment index in the euro zone fell to minus 28.8 this month from minus 25 in August.
Economists polled by Reuters had expected a decline to minus 25.8.
The EU Consumer Sentiment Index fell 3.5 points to minus 29.9.
