Contribution increase and an appeal

It was an evening of thanks - and hard facts.

For the first time in a long time, the Seefeld Neighborhood Aid (NBH) invited to the annual general meeting.

This took place in the Peter and Paul house in front of loosely seated rows with around 40 visitors.

The members unanimously decided to increase the annual fee from 25 to 30 euros.

- Board member Elmar Striegl had open words about the financial situation. And vehemently campaigned for the offspring: "Come to us, tell your children and grandchildren."

For an association that lives from interaction with the citizens, the pandemic was a blow to the office. “Corona presented us with new tasks”, summarized Patricia Kalchschmidt and thanked everyone “for keeping the store running”. The Seefelder NBH is the only one in the district that is recognized as a multi-generation house. There are grants for this, but there are also requirements in terms of what is offered. "We had a lot of ideas, a lot of ideas," said Sylvia Fischer, who runs the NBH family center and is also treasurer. But all that back and forth, what is allowed and what is not allowed - “that required a high degree of flexibility”. This was confirmed by the reports from Nicole Denk, responsible for the senior afternoons, Elfriede Schumacher from the midday care, Bettina Köster,responsible for housekeeping, everyday support and storytelling café, as well as Katalin Virag, deputy care manager. But everyone is unswerving. “You can feel the joy they have in their work,” said Striegl.

The numbers also speak for themselves: Despite everything, the number of members has risen from 490 (at the end of 2020) to currently 522. In 2019, around 80 parents took advantage of the family center's offer. The leaders of the parent-child groups, the open meetings and the children's park alone worked 775 hours. The 16 everyday companions looked after around 22 clients, in 2019 they worked 1946 hours, in 2020 there were 2222. The midday care is attended by around 52 children.

The fact that outpatient care in Hechendorf was dissolved in October 2020 (we reported) also affected the NBH Seefeld nursing staff. Katalin Virag reported eleven new admissions. In 2019, the care team worked 8,647 hours for around 50 clients, in 2020 it was around 8,200 hours for around 56. "By strictly adhering to the corona-related measures on our part, we had no corona cases in our team." No question: The NBH is looking for support here too.

Sylvia Fischer finally presented the cash report. "2019 was a difficult year for the NBH," she said. Fischer attributed the financial distress to the decline in donation income, late payments of grants, passing on the fee increases of the health and care insurance funds, the hiring of employees and the introduction of a quality management system. The NBH also lacks young people who want to do a voluntary social year. "You are welcome to contact us."

He made no secret of the fact that Striegl would have liked to have increased the membership fee by more than 5 euros even under these circumstances.

He spoke of a "minimum contribution" and thanked everyone who would round it up.

Apart from that, it bothered him that the NBH “has to go begging”.

Mayor Klaus Kögel also promised community support in the future.
