Companies can hope for support from the state even longer in the corona crisis.
Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier (CDU) has spoken out in favor of extending bridging aid III for companies until the end of the year.
There are talks in the government about this, said Altmaier in Berlin.
Bridging aid III is currently limited to the middle of the year.
Even if the lockdown is coming to an end, it will take a few months for economic life to normalize, said Altmaier.
Bridging aid III should therefore be extended.
He is striving to clarify this before the summer break.
Companies that are particularly badly affected by the corona crisis receive grants.
No compulsory testing for companies?
Altmaier also spoke out in favor of tougher measures to break the third corona wave.
The situation is more serious than many would like to admit.
He referred, for example, to the increasingly critical situation in intensive care medicine.
A closure of the manufacturing industry and industrial companies is not necessary.
Altmaier referred to progress in test offers in companies.
A "month-long permanent lockdown" must be prevented.
Altmaier does not consider it necessary to carry out corona tests in companies: "It is astonishing how much has been achieved," said Altmaier, referring to the voluntary establishment of test options in companies.
But it needs a further increase.
"I believe it is doable and possible."
With a view to the dispute among the federal states and with the federal government about the further course, Altmaier warned that this would endanger the acceptance of the corona policy among the population.
There is also a threat of damage to the federal system.
