The RKI provides information on the current number of corona cases in Germany.

On Saturday (October 23, 2021) the incidence value increases for the tenth day in a row.

Berlin - The seven-day incidence in Germany has reached 100 for the first time since mid-May.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) stated the number of new Corona * infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week on Saturday morning as exactly 100.0.

For comparison: the previous day the value was 95.1, a week ago it was 70.8.

The health authorities in Germany reported 15 145 new corona infections to the RKI within one day.

This is evident from the numbers that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 4:31 a.m.

A week ago the value was 10,949 infections.

Saturday (16.10.2021)

10,949 new infections and 75 deaths

Friday (15.10.2021)

11,518 new infections and 65 deaths

The case numbers of the RKI can differ from those of the individual federal states.

One reason for this is the longer transmission routes between the RKI and the responsible health authorities.

The RKI's Covid-19 dashboard can also be adjusted during the day.

According to the new information, 86 deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours.

A week ago there were 75 deaths.

The RKI has counted 4,452,425 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not detected.

Corona in Germany: Incidence of hospitalization from Saturday (23.10.2021)

The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days - the most important parameter for a possible tightening of the corona restrictions - was given by the RKI on Friday at 2.68 (Thursday 2.45).

With the indicator it must be taken into account that hospital admissions are sometimes reported with delay.

A nationwide threshold value from when the situation can be viewed critically is not provided for the incidence of hospitalization, among other things because of large regional differences.

The previous high was around 15.5 around Christmas time.
