RTL wants to thank the heroes in an open-air show in the everyday life of the corona pandemic. A "summer evening full of humor and lightheartedness" is planned, to which system-relevant professional groups will be invited on behalf of the viewers on the screen, the broadcaster said in a report. Comedians like Ilka Bessin, Mirja Boes, Mario Barth and Atze Schröder should appear. The location of "RTL says Thank you" is the Baldeneysee in Essen on August 28th. Lola Weippert and Daniel Hartwich will moderate.
The so-called Corona everyday heroes can register for free tickets for the evening on a website.
Approved are vaccinated and recovered people who have »helped others« with their work and have made sure »that we got through this time well«.
Specifically, the station named, for example, nursing staff, paramedics and parcel deliverers.
RTL was recently criticized in the crisis reporting during the flood disaster because of an appearance by reporter Susanna Ohlen.
Ohlen reported on the clean-up work in Bad Münstereifel.
An anonymous video clip showed how she smeared herself with mud beforehand, apparently to convey alleged closeness to those affected.
In the meantime, RTL has put the reporter on leave.
