Experts from the audit company Dekra * advise against it.
Everyone knows this situation: Just go to the supermarket or the bank - suddenly you notice that the face mask is still at home.
To avoid such a predicament, many people now store their protective masks in all sorts of places - one at work, one in every handbag or one in the car.
But especially in the vehicle, many make the mistake of hanging the face mask on the rearview mirror, as Dekra experts complain.

When the face mask dangles from the rearview mirror, it is always clearly visible and within reach, according to many drivers.
But that’s about the advantages, as the audit company Dekra thinks.
Because: "Even comparatively small mirror tags such as lanyards, scented trees or the like are dangerous from our point of view," explains Peter Rücker, Head of Dekra Accident Research.
"This applies even more to the face mask with its relatively large area."
However, it is not just about the mouthguard restricting the driver's field of vision - for example when turning right.

“Because of the constant turmoil, you as a driver get used to the fact that something is always moving at the edge of your field of vision.

Furthermore, Rücker points out that the purpose of the masks lies in the protection of fellow human beings.
Car drivers would do exactly the opposite by simply hanging the mouth and nose covers on the inside mirror.
