Coronavirus: Usa, 53 thousand cases in 24 hours

The United States has recorded 53,069 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours , according to data from Johns Hopkins University: it is a new record, the second in two consecutive days and the sixth in the last nine days. The total therefore rises to 2,735,339. At least seven states have made their mark in a single day: Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Montana, South Carolina and Tennessee. There have been 649 deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the overall death toll to 128,677.

The latest total of new infections in the US marks an 87% increase in daily cases in the past two weeks. The surge comes on the eve of July 4th, the Independence Day holiday, when thousands of Americans gather to celebrate the patriotic anniversary.

The mayor of Miami-Dade County will announce a curfew from 10 pm to 6 am in the next few hours to slow down the spread of the coronavirus. The measure will come into force on Friday evening. The first citizen, informs a note, will also sign an order to revoke the reopening of entertainment facilities, such as cinemas, theaters, casinos, concert arenas. Customers of restaurants will also have to wear masks and will be able to take them off just to eat.

After days of stability, the general figures of the coronavirus pandemic in Latin America have returned to show a clear upward trend, so in the last 24 hours the infections have risen to 2,723,302 (+74,059) and the deaths to 121,382 (+ 2.778). This is what emerges today from a statistical elaboration carried out by ANSA starting from the official data of 34 Latin American countries and territory. Brazil does not seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel, with high but stable numbers. The cases recorded since the start of the pandemic have touched 1.5 million today (1,496,858, +48,107), while the global deaths are 61,884 (+1,252). Peru (292,004 and 10,045) and Chile (284,541 and 5,920) follow, and seven other countries with more than 30,000 infections: Mexico (238,511 and 29,189), Colombia (106,110 and 3,641), Argentina (69,941 and 1,385), Ecuador (59,486 and 4,649), Panama (35,235 and 667), Dominican Republic (34,197 and 765), and Bolivia (34,227 and 1,201).
