While the arrival of a new batch of covid-19 vaccines from Russia is awaited for this morning, the Government confirmed
11,582 new cases
and another 283 deaths
from coronavirus in Argentina.
It arises from the daily part published this Sunday by the Ministry of Health, based on the data reported by the provinces in the last 24 hours.

With a total of 3,147,740 infections, Argentina ranks 11th among the countries with the highest number of accumulated positive cases since the beginning of the global health crisis.
If infections per million inhabitants are considered,
the country ranks 38th with a rate of 68,854 per million
.
However, due to the effect of the second wave, the cut of the last week places it in 8th place, according to the site Our World in Data.

With the data from this Sunday,
fatal cases reached 67,325,
so Argentina remains in the 14th step globally.
And it is 11th in the number of new deaths per million inhabitants, taking into account the average of the last 7 days.
Regarding the occupation of ICU beds (Intensive Care Unit), a number that worries a lot, the daily report indicated that there are 5,294 adults hospitalized for the disease, with an occupancy percentage of 68.6% in the Nation and 76.8% at the AMBA.

What happened in the week
The two highest numbers of deaths in one day had been registered.
There were
663 on Wednesday and 611 on Friday
.
However, in both cases, the numbers were increased by the burden of 201 deaths from previous months in San Juan (162) and Catamarca (39).
New variants of the virus set the pace for this second wave of the pandemic.
According to the latest official report prepared by the Country Project - on 1,848 samples - these mutations have an increasing incidence in our country.

The latter is known as the Andean variant, which would have originated in Peru.

At dawn on Monday, an Aerolineas Argentinas flight will arrive in the country with another 500,000 Sputnik V vaccines. As confirmed by the Government, all doses are from
component 1
, with which the immunization scheme begins.
With this new shipment, Argentina will have received a total of
12,198,250 doses
of the different vaccines against Covid-19.
According to official data, updated on Sunday morning, 11,337,571 were distributed throughout the country, of which
9,082,597 have
already been applied.
So far, 1,393,720 received the two injections that complete the immunization schedule.
