According to an official report, until this morning

12,991,480 people

received at least one vaccine against covid-19 throughout Argentina.

This represents

28.63% of the population

, out of a total of 45,376,763 inhabitants estimated by INDEC in 2020.

When looking at the situation in each jurisdiction, the City of Buenos Aires appears as the one with the highest percentage of inhabitants with the first dose:

37.71%

.

Only four other provinces exceed 30%.

They are Jujuy, San Luis, La Pampa and Tierra del Fuego.

In contrast, Misiones appears as the province with the worst vaccination rate:

22.49%

.

It is the only one that today is below 25% immunized with at least one dose.

The City of Buenos Aires has the highest average population vaccinated against covid-19 in the country.

The second wave

Due to the impact of the outbreak that began after Easter, Argentina is currently the

fourth country

with the highest number of new infections in the world.

In the last 7 days -between Sunday 6 and Saturday 12 June-, the average per day was

24,589

, an average that has been falling after the latest restrictions.

In fact, in the last hours it

was overtaken by Colombia,

which now ranks third in the world.

India and Brazil remain in the first two places.

Argentina today is the fourth country with the highest number of new coronavirus infections in the world.

When looking at the incidence with respect to the population, the country is fifth globally, with

544 infected daily per million inhabitants

.

The four that exceed it (Seychelles, Uruguay, Maldives and Bahrain) have less than 4 million inhabitants, so their rates soared more before the new outbreak.

The death data are worrying as they are on the rise.

In the week prior to today's report - between Sunday 6 and Saturday 12 June -

4,214

were reported

;

that is,

602

per day.

It is the second highest average of fatal cases registered by the country due to covid-19 and marks a growth of

16%

in June.

The daily average of Argentine deaths is the third highest globally.

In this case it is also surpassed by India and Brazil, which are around 3,300 and 1,900, respectively.
