In the last of the 9 days of the confinement imposed to contain the advance of the second wave, the Government confirmed this Sunday
21,346 new cases
and 348 deaths from coronavirus in Argentina.
This was reported by the Ministry of Health this afternoon, in the daily report prepared with the data provided by the provinces in the last 24 hours.
A new record for
severe Covid patients was set,
on the rise since May 7.
This Sunday 7,206 were reported, a number that exceeds the previous peak (6,909, a figure reached on Saturday).
The
occupancy of intensive care beds
also rose
, both in the AMBA and at the national level.
In the metropolitan region it reached 77.2% occupancy, while
throughout Argentina it reached another record
: 77.5%, higher than the 77.1% reported last Friday.
Argentina is the ninth country with the highest number of accumulated coronavirus infections since the start of the pandemic.

With the 21,346 cases registered this Sunday, there are already 3,753,609 positives for covid since the start of the pandemic.
Of these, 3,319,068 have already been recovered.
With more than
3.7 million infections
detected since the beginning of the health crisis, Argentina is the
ninth country
with the highest number of accumulated positives and the
second in South America
, behind Brazil.
Meanwhile, the 348 deaths reported in the last daily part bring the deaths from coronavirus in Argentina to 77,456.

The Province of Buenos Aires was once again the jurisdiction with the most cases registered on the day: 6,446 reported this Sunday, totaling 1,600,264 since the start of the pandemic.
It was followed by
Córdoba
(3,441 - 308,317) and
Santa Fe
(2,540 - 342,636), while the City of Buenos Aires was the fourth jurisdiction in number of infected (1,819 - 416,145).
Another ten provinces
exceeded 300 daily cases.
These are Formosa (777 - 29,647), Entre Ríos (737 - 85,033), Corrientes (620 - 51,113), Neuquén (600 - 89,550), Catamarca (497 - 23,418), Tucumán (481 - 128,623), San Luis (453 - 52,531), Mendoza (450 - 119,878), Santiago del Estero (411 - 43,372) and Chaco (352 - 57,727).
The detail of the cases, province by province, is completed with: La Pampa (298 - 42,338), Salta (287 - 44,952), San Juan (255 - 36,609), Misiones (189 - 20,264), Río Negro (170 - 73,614) ), Jujuy (143 - 28,212), Chubut (128 - 62,302), Santa Cruz (111 - 51,324), La Rioja (109 - 17,289) and Tierra del Fuego (32 - 28,451).
As for the
deaths from covid
, the Province of Buenos Aires reported 196 this Sunday. The City of Buenos Aires reported 30 deaths and Río Negro, 29.
There were also more than a dozen deaths in Córdoba (15), Entre Ríos (14), Mendoza (14), Santa Fe (11) and Santiago del Estero (11).
The other provinces in which deaths from coronavirus were reported were: Chaco (6), Neuquén (5), Formosa (4), San Luis (4), San Juan (3), Tierra del Fuego (3), Jujuy (1 ), Misiones (1) and Salta (1).

"We have pending the delivery of the May quota of
900,000 doses
