In the midst of the advance of the second wave, the World Health Organization (WHO) finally included

aerosols

among the main means of contagion of the coronavirus

.

That is, the small drops that we emit just by breathing and that can remain floating in the air.

"The virus can spread from the mouth or nose of an infected person in small liquid particles when they cough, sneeze, speak, sing or breathe. These particles vary from larger respiratory droplets

to smaller aerosols

," detailed the global body.

"Current evidence suggests that the virus spreads primarily between people who are in close contact with each other, usually within 1 meter (short range). A person can become infected when aerosols or droplets containing the virus are inhaled or come into direct contact with the eyes, the nose or the mouth, "he added.
