More than 140 days after the start of the quarantine, the Ministry of Health of the Nation reported this Sunday 4,688 new cases of coronavirus and another 84 deaths, in the last 24 hours.
Of this total number of cases (49.1% women and 50.9% men), 0.5% are imported, 26.8% from close contacts, 56.6% from community circulation, and the rest are in epidemiological research. The total number of registrations is 170,109 people.
On Saturday 15,163 new samples were taken and since the beginning of the outbreak there are 845,220 diagnostic tests for this disease, which is equivalent to 18,626.7 samples per million inhabitants. The number of cases discarded until yesterday was 477,897 (by laboratory and by clinical / epidemiological criteria).
For her part, Carla Vizzotti ,The woman who every day leads the reports from the National Government on the coronavirus pandemic, revealed that in the coming days there may be a strong increase in Covid-19 cases in Argentina .
"We are looking very precisely at the issue of therapies and the deceased, since in this context in which there is community circulation and also many active searches, when they begin to be confirmed by clinical and epidemiology, the increase in mild cases may increase strongly the number of cases, "said the official.
Vizzotti explained that as there is a greater number of tests in community transmission areas, with the specific search in certain sectors, the positives will be many more in relation to the tests that are carried out daily.
With regard to a dispersion issue for the stress of the Argentines, after the good news for the football fans of the return to the training sessions of the local teams, the Minister of Health, Ginés González García , explained that if the infections soar in the establishments it could be reversed with the decision of the return of the First Division teams .
