(CNN Spanish) - The world adds 21.6 million cases of covid-19, of which a large part are found in the American continent.

While the United States has more than 5.4 million cases, Brazil has reported 3.3 million, and Peru and Mexico more than half a million each.

This is how the week of August 17 begins in the ten Latin American countries most affected by the virus, according to figures from Johns Hopkins University.
