Iss, many cases of positivity among the unvaccinated. The efficacy with 2 doses ranges from 88% to 96%. From hospitalizations at risk of death versus 1 dose vaccinations (ANSA)

"We are 55% of the vaccinated vaccinated population. I said that by the end of July we will be at 60% and we will certainly get there".

Emergency commissioner Francesco Figliuolo said this in Susa to receive an award, underlining that the campaign is continuing smoothly. "It is clear - he added - that everything is subject to the arrival of vaccines, which arrive on a regular basis in this period, and to the great work being done with the regions, the provinces, the Defense, the Civil Protection and the world of associations ".

"There is still a long way to go - he concluded - we are at the last mile".

"Most of the cases reported in Italy were identified in the last 14 days in unvaccinated subjects"

and "it is estimated a strong effect of reducing the risk of Sars-CoV-2 infection in fully vaccinated compared to unvaccinated people (88 % for diagnosis, 95% for hospitalization, 97% for ICU admissions and 96% for deaths) ".

These are the data contained in the extended document of the weekly monitoring of the Supreme Institute of Health (Iss).

In particular in the last 30 days, 33% of Sars-CoV-2 diagnoses, 46% of hospitalizations, 71% of ICU admissions and 69% of deaths occurred among those who did not receive any dose of vaccine.

And on the efficacy of vaccinations: from 4 April (approximately the date on which vaccination was extended to the general population) to 18 July 2021, the overall efficacy of vaccination, adjusted for age - reads the report - is above 70 % in preventing infection in vaccinated with incomplete course (70.2%) and above 88% for vaccinated with full course (88.2%). The effectiveness in preventing hospitalization rises to 81% with an incomplete cycle and 95% with a full cycle. The effectiveness in preventing ICU admissions is 89% with an incomplete cycle and 97% with a full cycle. Finally, the effectiveness in preventing death is equal to 80% with an incomplete cycle and 96% with a complete cycle ". These estimates - specifies theISS - are not adjusted for several factors that could affect the risk of infection / hospitalization / death and the likelihood of being vaccinated (e.g., risk category, comorbidities, etc.).
