(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 27 - Infections from Covid-19 are spurting in Eastern European countries, with new cases rising at the highest levels since the beginning of the pandemic.
It is a record in Poland with 8,361 new infections in the last 24 hours compared to 6,265 the previous day.
The last time the country had registered over 8,000 cases was in April 2021.
The Czech Republic, reports the Guardian, counted 6,274 new cases, effectively doubling in a week.
And Bulgaria is also a record since the beginning of the pandemic with 6,813 infections in the last 24 hours.
Concern is also growing in Hungary, where there are 3,125 new patients in 24 hours compared to 1,668 daily homes a week ago.
