Covid-19: "We can avoid a second wave if we respect the barrier measures"

LE FIGARO. - In recent weeks, we have observed an increase in cases of Covid-19 in France. Are we in the second wave?

Prof. Didier PITTET. - No, we are precisely on the tail of a first wave. This means that we have succeeded in containing the accelerated transmission of the virus and its impact on health systems, at the cost of very significant economic and social consequences. A wave is a metaphor. It corresponds to an increase in cases, which must be dealt with in hospitals.
