Germany recorded 11,287 new Covid-19 infections in 24 hours, a sudden jump from the previous day and a record for the country since the outbreak of the pandemic, according to official data released Thursday, October 22.

This figure, which was still only 7,595 on Wednesday, far exceeds the previous record reached last Friday when 7,830 new cases had been recorded by the Robert Koch health watch institute in the country.
