Sanitary pass, vaccination and wearing a mask lifted in France

After more than two years of a state of health emergency, August 1 marks the entry into force of the bill which puts an end to the state of health emergency to return to common law.

It is therefore the end of the health or vaccination pass.

If they could still be required in certain places like hospitals.

This measure is no longer relevant: no passes can now be requested.

As with confinements or curfews, the government will again have to go through Parliament to impose the detention of a pass in the future.

The text also modifies the obligation to wear a mask.

If it was no longer required on trains, public transport or in shops, it was still required in all hospitals or health establishments.

This general obligation is over but the directors can, if they wish, impose the wearing of a mask in their health establishment.

Controls to enter the territory have also been lifted.

A health certificate, that is to say a negative test, may be required from people over 12 years old who wish to enter France, in mainland France or on an overseas territory.

This control will only be imposed in a particular situation: it is provided for in the event of the appearance of a new dangerous variant in a foreign country.

Joe Biden still positive for Covid-19

US President Joe Biden remains positive for Covid-19 but is doing well and continues to manage the country's affairs from the White House, his personal doctor said Monday.

The 79-year-old Democrat, who remains confined, is

“very attentive to the protection”

of those around him, said Dr. Kevin O’Connor in a letter made public by the presidency.

Joe Biden had tested positive on July 21 with

“very mild symptoms”

and was released from confinement on Wednesday after testing negative.

But he had tested positive again on Saturday, a

“rebound”

possible positivity in patients treated, like him, with Paxlovid.

This antiviral treatment from the Pfizer laboratory works by reducing the ability of the virus to replicate, thus slowing the progression of the disease.

It is recommended in the United States for people at risk of developing a severe case of the disease, a category into which the American president falls due to his age.

Victim of harassment by antivax, an Austrian doctor puts an end to her life

Austria is in shock after the suicide of Lisa-Marie Kellermayr, a doctor found dead in her office in the Upper Austria region on Friday July 29.

In a letter, found next to her remains, she justifies her act by psychological and physical exhaustion in the face of the surge of hatred of which she was the victim on social networks.

Known to the general public since the start of the Covid-19 crisis, Lisa-Marie Kellermayr regularly appeared on Austrian television sets to call on the population to be vaccinated.

Her stance in favor of vaccination against Covid-19, which she considered necessary to avoid any serious form of the disease, made her the target of antivax and followers of conspiracy theories, according to

.

An intense wave of harassment had thus forced her to close her consulting firm “

until further notice
