Peru, the country with the highest death rate from Covid-19 in the world, has passed the threshold of 200,000 deaths due to the coronavirus epidemic, the Peruvian Ministry of Health said on Friday.

The country has recorded 25 deaths and 1,043 cases of contamination in the last 24 hours, for a total since the start of the epidemic in March 2020 of 2.2 million contaminations and 200,003 deaths, the ministry said.
