The number of patients with Covid-19 hospitalized in critical care continues to decline, but slowly, with 3,746 patients, according to figures from Public Health France published on Saturday.

With 3,792 the day before, and 3,852 a week ago, the critical care services, which treat the most serious cases, particularly in intensive care, have recorded a slight reflux for several days.
These services recorded 214 new admissions in the past 24 hours, compared to 329 the previous day.
If it is much more contagious than its predecessors, the Omicron variant also gives fewer severe forms, which is reflected in particular by shorter passages in hospital and less frequent admissions to intensive care.
Covid-19 contaminations fell below 400,000, with 389,320 people testing positive in 24 hours, according to data published on Saturday by Public Health France.
On average over seven days, this indicator stands at 356,651 cases.
Currently, 28,515 Covid patients are received at the hospital, compared to 28,457 on Friday, and 24,544 a week ago, specifies Public Health France. In 24 hours, 1,994 people were admitted to hospital against 3,077 the day before. Health authorities are also closely monitoring a sub-variant of Omicron which appeared a few weeks ago and which has settled in Denmark. This sub-variant has been detected in France "

", according to the health agency.
In 24 hours, 167 people died from Covid, according to data published on Saturday by Public Health France, against 235 the day before, bringing the total death toll to 128,514 since the start of the epidemic.
Since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, 53,802,773 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 79.8% of the total population) and 52,469,458 people have had a complete vaccination schedule (77.8% of the population total).
