As the country's reopening approaches, the number of Covid-19 patients treated in critical care services continues to decline slowly, as does that of people infected with the virus who are hospitalized.
The health authorities count this Thursday 1151 new patients admitted to hospitals.
This brings the number of people currently hospitalized to 26,985.
They were 27,686 the day before and 29,487 seven days ago.
Of these, 5,231 are in critical care - that is, in an intensive care unit, intensive care unit or continuous monitoring unit.
They were 5,402 on Wednesday and 5,804 seven days ago.
In the past 24 hours, 273 serious cases have been admitted to critical care.
We are thus moving away from the 6000 mark and the alarming peak of the first wave of April 2020 (around 7000).

Public Health France has also recorded 222 deaths linked to Covid-19 which have occurred in the last 24 hours in hospital.

Emmanuel Macron further opened the floodgates of vaccination on Thursday, in the hope of accelerating the campaign. Thus, all over 50s will be able to be vaccinated from May 10, instead of May 15, and the doses available at the end of the day will be open the next day to those over 18, announced the Head of State.
