More than 100,000 people have died in France from an illness linked to Covid-19: this sad threshold has been crossed in the past 24 hours.
This Thursday, Public Health France counted 300 new deaths linked to Covid-19 (against 297 yesterday).
These deaths were recorded in hospitals, bringing the total number of victims to more than 100,000 since the start of the epidemic, just over a year ago.
Hospital pressure is still being felt: this Thursday, Public Health France counted 30,668 Covid patients currently being treated, against 30,868 Wednesday and 30,555 last Thursday.
As for serious cases, 5,924 patients are currently in critical care (resuscitation, intensive care, continuous monitoring), against 5,902 Wednesday and 5,705 last Thursday.
501 patients have been admitted there in the past 24 hours.

Some twelve million people have already received at least one dose of the vaccine.
As the vaccination campaign accelerates, the General Directorate of Health (DGS) counts 11,956,087 people who have received at least one injection (i.e. 17.8% of the total population and 22.8% of the adult population) and 4,265,276 people who received their two injections (6.4% of the total population and 8.1% of the adult population).
The government announced dedicated slots this weekend for teachers and police officers over 55, a little over 430,000 professionals according to Matignon.
Time slots will be reserved for them for at least 15 days.
Pfizer will deliver 50 million additional doses of its vaccine to Europe.
These doses were scheduled for the fourth quarter, but will eventually be delivered sooner.

Government spokesman Gabriel Attal announced an upcoming "tribute" to the victims of Covid-19.
There will be "obviously this moment of homage and mourning for the Nation", he declared.
