Covid-19 in France: 53 new deaths, 1,371 patients in critical care

The Delta variant, suspected of causing more serious forms, is still rife in France.

This Wednesday, the latest figures from Public Health France show 8,134 patients hospitalized for a Covid-19 infection, against 7,974 Tuesday and 7,208 last Wednesday.

In the past 24 hours, 772 new admissions have been recorded against 818 on Tuesday.

There were "only" 490 seven days earlier.

In critical care services, which take care of people suffering from severe forms of the disease, 1,371 patients are being treated on Wednesday against 1,331 on Tuesday.

They were 992 seven days ago.

157 patients have been hospitalized in the past 24 hours.

In the past 24 hours, 53 patients have died in hospital.

The number of daily deaths in the hospital is also in clear increase (Tuesday, one recorded more + 86% in one week).

More than 112,050 people have died from an infection linked to Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.
