Munich / Erding - The Munich Cowboys hosted the American football game against the Erding Bulls in the Dantestadion and showed no mercy.

From the kick off, the Munich dominated the action.

At halftime, the Cowboys were leading 23: 7 and increased in the second half with another touchdown to 29: 7.

A bitter defeat for the Bulls.

The Erdinger apparently came to Munich with a little too much self-confidence because the Munich Cowboys 2 had not yet booked a win in this regional league season. Right at the beginning of the game, however, the hosts put a lot of pressure on the Erdinger offense. The Bulls fumbled and had to give up the next attack with a punt. From this the cowboys made the first touchdown with safe passes. After a nice kick-off return from Kilian Mayer, another fumble ended the Erdinger attack, and the Munich team used the turnover to gain a second point. The end of the first quarter showed a 13-0 for the Cowboys.

The Erdinger Defense finally adjusted better to the opponent and stopped the cowboy offense. At first, the Bulls gained space, but that hopeful approach was dashed by a quarterback sack that went way back. When the snap took place on his own 2-yard line in the third attempt, the ball carrier could no longer get out of the end zone and was tackled there. So the cowboys got two more points with the safety. But that's not all, the Munich team turned another touchdown and even the 2-point conversion.

Shortly before the end of the first half, Erdinger quarterback Marc-Philipp Jaquet brought a pass to wide receiver Philipp Steigele in the end zone.

The pat by Johannes Rumpfinger led to the halftime score of 23: 7.

Catching up a difference of 16 points is quite possible in a football game, and so the Bulls showed themselves combative in the third quarter of the game.

This phase was characterized by a change of attack without countable results.

At the end of the game, an interception from Michael Hopfinger briefly brought hope, but the Cowboys intercepted the next pass and scored another six points to a clear final score of 29: 7.

However, head coach Timm Fiege could not be satisfied with the performance of his players.

“The turnovers broke our necks.

We have to remedy the individual mistakes, now the training is important, ”he analyzed.

Small consolation: At least the Bulls Juniors won in the U 19 Bavaria Bowl against the favored Straubing Spiders in an exciting game with 20:14 points.
