The wait will have been short.
Two weeks after the announcement of the departure of its president, Jean-Pierre Denis, Crédit mutuel Arkéa, one of the main components of the Crédit mutuel group, should present to the board of directors on Monday the name of a successor.
According to our information, it should be Julien Carmona, Deputy CEO of Nexity, the leading real estate developer in France.

Normalien, enarque and financial inspector, Julien Carmona has a long experience in banking and insurance: during his career, he held management positions at BNP Paribas, BPCE (Banque populaire, Caisse d'épargne, Natixis ) and Scor.
He was also economic advisor to Jacques Chirac at the Élysée between 2004 and 2007. A point in common with the emblematic Jean-Pierre Denis, who was Deputy Secretary General of the Élysée during the first term of Jacques Chirac between 1995 and 1997.
Jean-Pierre Denis fought for several years for Crédit mutuel Arkéa, which brings together the federations of Brittany and the South-West, to become independent.
In mid-March, he announced that he will not ask for the renewal of his mandate as director at the general meeting on May 11.
However, he
“will remain at the full disposal”
of the bank beyond this date in order to
“support (…) his successor during the transition period”.

In just over a year, the management of the group based near Brest will have been completely renewed, Hélène Bernicot and Anne Le Goff now providing executive management.
It remains to be seen whether the independence project, which is still presented as a strategic priority, will be relaunched.
