The Committee for Traffic and Joint Passengers Transport in Lattakia Governorate created a new route for internal transport buses from the eastern garage towards Tishreen University and Al-Thawra Street to the Al-Azhari roundabout and back on the same axis to the Al-Zaraa and University roundabout towards the garage.
The director of the internal transport company in the governorate, Eng. Tariq Issa, explained that the new line is in response to a demand from citizens for the company, as it saves them time and cost in moving between the eastern garage and Al-Thawra Street.
Issa pointed out that the new line serves the residential communities located at the Datour Junction, which witnesses constant overcrowding, especially in the morning and afternoon times. It also links the eastern garage with the northern part of the city and the university.
For his part, the Director of Transport in the governorate, Eng. Muhammad Ali Deeb, pointed out that the committee also decided to allow owners of microbuses operating on the Northern Ring Line in Lattakia to move to any other line they wished inside or outside the city, even closed lines, by a decision of the Traffic Committee.
Lattakia Governorate recently received 14 new buses from the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment as part of the Chinese grant, which included 100 internal transport buses.
