Rigoberto Uran, 34, made his mea culpa on Wednesday for riding with his baby hanging from his chest and posting video of the scene.

In addition to being a successful rider on the Grand Tours, Rigoberto Uran, 2nd, is certainly an excellent young dad.

But, like everyone in their situation, they sometimes make mistakes.

Such as the one which consisted of going for a ride with your baby girl, fixed to the chest and relaying her “feat” on social networks.

"I fucked up, I won't do it again," said the Colombian rider of the EF Education team Nippo, 10th in the last Tour de France won by Tadej Pogacar, widely criticized Wednesday on the networks for his unconsciousness after the publication of the video.

It's been a long time since I've been scolded so much.

I apologize.

Do not do that..."

In the video in question, we see his daughter Carlota, born in March, attached to her father's chest, head forward and without a helmet. What spark controversy in his country, where his attitude was deemed irresponsible by many Internet users accusing him of endangering his child. Others found the scene rather endearing, pointing out the poor pace at which the climber seemed to be riding. But in the face of criticism, he ended up deleting the video in question and therefore made his mea culpa.

Very popular in Colombia, Uran finished on the podium of the Tour de France in 2017 (2nd).

Second in the Giro twice, in 2013 and 2014, he also won three grand tour stages, two on the Giro, one on the Grande Boucle, and won the silver medal in 2012 in the road race of the Olympic Games.

He is currently under contract until 2022 with EF Education Nippo.
