It's a horror for every cyclist: During a ride, a 46-year-old from Munich broke the saddle suspension.

The man fell and was badly injured.

But the accident could have been much worse.

Straßlach-Dingharting - When a man is hospitalized with a broken leg after a bicycle fall and has to be operated on, it is actually out of place to speak of happiness in misfortune.

In this case, however, it could actually be true.

As reported by the police, a 46-year-old mountain bike rider from Munich fell off his bike at around 11.40 a.m. on Wednesday near the Mühltal hiking car park because the saddle suspension suddenly broke.

The cyclist had been traveling south in the Esterholz and was about to turn onto Mühlstraße towards the Isar Canal when the accident happened.

Only a few meters further it would have gone steeply down Mühlstraße.

The route is so dangerous there that cyclists are now forbidden.

If the cyclist had fallen at high speed in this area, things could have turned out much worse.
