With a unique design and three-dimensional engraving, using mother-of-pearl, copper, damask brocade and wood, five of the sheikhs of Karr, Dummar Central Incubator for Craftsmanship, gathered to create a painting that will participate in the Expo 2020 exhibition in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The Ministry of Industry assigned Dummar incubator to design a distinctive artistic painting to participate in the exhibition within specific dimensions, according to Sheikh Al-Kar Ahmed Addas, who explained in a statement to SANA reporter that he designed and painted the painting, and that its idea was inspired by the ancient gates of Damascus, the ancient Levantine lanes, and the purely oriental touches, in addition to heritage characteristics, noting that Design, drawing and implementation took 18 days.

Regarding the design of the painting, Addas pointed out that the painting went through different stages after the design was developed, and that the first person to start working on it was Sheikh Al-Kar Adnan Double, by engraving it in a three-dimensional manner using a special machine. The colored epoxy, which gave it an additional aesthetic, was then referred to Sheikh Al-Kar Muhammad Al-Kajk, who placed natural seashells on the plate with distinctive shapes.

Addas pointed out that he placed the Levantine gate made of wood in the form of stones that reflect the designs of the Damascene houses, so that Sheikh Al-Kar Muhammad Al-Tahhan then put the curtain of the natural brocade, which is occupied for the first time with pure gold thread, so that Addas returns and installs the painting in its final form.

Addas considered that the aesthetic of the painting is due to the consistency of the design and its unique three-dimensional shape, which distinguished from all the participating paintings, in addition to the fruitful cooperation between five Kar Sheikhs who decided to collaborate to design other paintings, stressing that the goal of participating in Expo 2020 is to show the Syrian heritage and heritage and the ability of the Kar Sheikhs to The control of the small spaces given to them by the exhibition organizers to make the painting one of the unique Syrian designs participating.
