The controversy over the closure of schools ordered by the national government, in the middle of the second wave of coronavirus, added in the last hours a new chapter with criticism for the vaccination of teachers in the City of Buenos Aires.

The head of the Buenos Aires government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, held the Nation directly responsible for the low amount of doses received, in a clear response to the president.

This Tuesday, from the province of Buenos Aires they got into the controversy and, without mentioning the Buenos Aires administration, they criticized the low level of inoculation of teachers in the City.

"

We have been vaccinated 50%.

Another jurisdiction said that it adheres to what the specialists say. I do not know what they have done with the Sinopharm vaccines when they could be given up to 60 years, because we take the opportunity to vaccinate teachers and vaccinate the half of teachers and assistants ", affirmed the Buenosairean minister of Health, Daniel Gollan.

Figures for the Province of Buenos Aires.

A day before, the President had installed the controversy in a conference: "When educating our people it is very important that our teachers are vaccinated. Santa Fe, San Juan and Buenos Aires top the list. The City of Buenos Aires is the penultimate and only vaccinated 14% ".

Gollan also pointed to the City of Buenos Aires for not following the measures ordered by the Nation: "When we take a measure from one side of General Paz and the other side is not taken, it affects us all. That is why it was very good when in one time we could agree on the measures ".

The minister assured that the City

"does not tell the truth"

regarding the possible saturation of the health system.

"When in the City they tell me 'stay calm because I have 40% of the beds in intensive care occupied', that is dangerous, because it is not the truth. The large prepaid medicine companies have been 100% for a long time," he analyzed .

At this point, he alerted the population: "We must not generate fear, we must generate awareness in people who believe that if the disease occurs they will be very well cared for and today they will have to fight for a bed. And It is possible that if he is from the City of Buenos Aires he will not end up being treated at a City effector ".

Carlos Bianco and Daniel Gollan, in conference.

The differences with CABA were the focus of the conference given by the Buenos Aires government.

Carlos Bianco, chief of Cabinet of the province, also crossed the Larreta administration and spoke of a

"political aberration"

when mentioning the "judicialization" of the sanitary measures.

"The Buenos Aires Justice took powers that correspond to the federal Justice. The Supreme Court will have to tell the Buenos Aires Justice: 'You have taken powers that do not correspond to you.'"

Bianco stressed that they will continue to adhere to the measures adopted by the Nation and warned: "We are not going to allow any outdated attitude to plunge

our province into anarchy

."

What will happen after April 30?

The Chief of Staff explained that they will

continue with phase 2 restrictions after April 30

, although they will analyze municipality by municipality to determine the return of face-to-face classes.

"We are going to keep this phase 2 active, which involves the same measures for a period of 15 days to reduce circulation. Only suspend the presence of classes in those cases that are strictly necessary," he explained.

In this sense, he added: "Within a district, some localities are compromised, others are not, and you

have to be very specific to establish the restrictions

. We are going to work with each of the mayors."

Regarding the phase system, Bianco reported that from this Wednesday there will be 35 districts in phase 2, which will be joined by Zárate, Castelli and General Villegas.

"In phase 3 we have 45 municipalities, there are 51 municipalities in phase 4 and a municipality in phase 5, which will be Tordillo," he said.

Controversy with Julio Garro

After the mayor of La Plata, Julio Garro, expressed his discomfort with the provincial government for having learned "through a tweet" about the circulation of the Manaos strain in his district, Gollan came out to answer him.

"The (data) of La Plata was published first because of all the samples that were taken it is by far the one that this week gave an alarming presence of the Manaus variant. It was 74% of the sample. In other places it has given us a 30 or 20% ", the Minister of Health began his discharge.

"

It is not true that the city of La Plata was unaware of what was happening

, because it was also public and expressed in the enormous amount of demand for beds in intensive care, in the enormous number of cases and in the enormous number of young people. We had been warning it in all the meetings, "he added.

I contacted the Governor and the Minister of Health of the Province.

We learned of the alleged existence of a report on the Manaos strain from a tweet.

No one informed the City health authorities.

- Julio Garro (@JulioGarro) April 18, 2021

With a firm tone, Gollan concluded: "The first principle to collaborate with each other is not to lie."

The new variants

The Health Minister warned about the rising circulation of new strains and spoke of "the appearance of new mutations."

"As in Brazil, it is probable that there are cases of people who are infected with the two viruses.

This favors the appearance of new mutations,

" he warned.

In this regard, he added: "This week we began to know worrying data about the presence of variants of the virus, especially in some places of the Province and the country. Variants that are much more contagious, which we know as the Manaus variant and the British variant. ".
