"Masuah" - the Institute for Holocaust Studies - will this year dedicate the main event that opens the Holocaust Martyrs 'and Heroes' Remembrance Day events to a special tribute broadcast to Holocaust survivors that will be broadcast on Masuah's Facebook and YouTube channels and on the Masuah website (to be broadcast tonight at 19:00).
The broadcast "It Happened Only Yesterday" is intended to salute the last survivors living with us and at the same time "correct" the image of Holocaust survivors, whose discussion over the past decade has focused on welfare issues and forgotten the mental strengths and resourcefulness they have discovered - as a source of inspiration to us all.
The broadcast, hosted by actor Sasson Gabay, was also attended by author David Grossman, who spoke about the heroism of Holocaust survivors: And survive all the atrocities these people went through but the post-war heroism.the heroism that led them to make a kind of inner decision to choose life.which despite all they knew about what man could do to another person, they still came here or to other countries and chose a life that has expression Trust in human beings in life itself.
