Service workshops in Deir ez-Zor governorate have started working to remove the dust storm remnants that have been affecting the city of Deir ez-Zor since yesterday evening.
A member of the Executive Office of Deir ez-Zor Governorate, Rabie Al-Urfi, said in a statement to SANA reporter that all service workshops in the governorate were mobilized to remove the remnants of the dust storm, which caused material damage to a number of streets and electricity networks, while medical and health cadres in the governorate raised their readiness to the maximum level to receive All emergency cases.
The head of Deir ez-Zor City Council, Engineer Raed Mandeel, stated that the storm caused a number of roads in the city to be cut off as a result of the fall of some old trees, lighting poles and road boards.
Director of the General Electricity Company of Deir Ezzor, Eng. Khaled Lutfi, explained that a number of low and medium voltage networks were cut off as a result of trees falling on them, as the company’s workshops removed the damage and danger to the electrical networks and is currently working on repairing poles and networks to restore the electric current to its normal state.
Deir ez-Zor governorate has been hit since Sunday evening by a dust storm that caused the death of two people and caused many damages as a result of the fall of many trees and electricity poles.
