Demi Lovato's documentary "Dancing With the Devil" was "her chance to tell the truth"
In an interview with Pedestrian, Lovato explained that she does not believe that beings from another planet intend to harm humans.
"I really think if there was something out there that wanted to do that to us, it would have already happened," Lovato said.
"But I think we have to stop calling them 'alien' because this is a derogatory term for anything. That's why I like to call them ET."
The word "alien", when used in reference to immigrants or those who come from other countries, has become controversial and considered dehumanizing by advocates of immigration.
