The summary judge of the Pointe-à-Pitre judicial court ordered the unions who dispute the vaccination obligation of caregivers to "release the sites of the CHU (of Guadeloupe) within 24 hours", under penalty of "expulsion with, if necessary, the assistance of the public force ”.

This decision follows a complaint filed by the management of the CHU of Pointe-à-Pitre to "unblock access", according to an internal memo from management.

According to this document, “the logistics center of the CHU is blocked every day, staff are prevented from reaching their workstations (…).

The laundry and the store only deliver every other day ”.

A total of four complaints were lodged by management regarding this movement within the hospital.

Two concern the degradation of the premises, another the death threats suffered by the director of the hospital, and a last concerning the assault of an intern, which had triggered a reaction from the establishment medical commission.

Threat of strike if caregivers are suspended

The latter declared in its motion, on October 2, that "the challenge to the law on the vaccination obligation (...) intended to protect the patients who come to entrust us with their health, cannot justify the obstacles to movement inside. of the establishment and malicious acts towards caregivers going to the bedside ”, also explaining that“ for too long, we have been silent (...) and today the doctors are no longer ready to endure without saying anything about such acts with verbal and physical aggression ”.

On Wednesday evening, the director of the CHU hospital announced that 55% of the establishment's caregivers were now vaccinated.

However, the unions have warned: from the first suspensions of unvaccinated caregivers, they could trigger a strike
