Denmark qualified for the 2022 World Cup after defeating its guest, Austria, with a clean goal, in the eighth round of the World Cup qualifiers for the continent of Europe.

Atalanta's Italian player Joachim Mihli scored the winning goal, bringing Denmark's tally to 24 points, flying to the top of Group F and becoming the second qualifier to the World Cup after Germany.

Denmark had previously defeated Austria by four in the third round.

Denmark is the only team that won all its eight matches in the qualifiers, with 27 goals and a clean sheet, and with a guarantee of qualification, Scotland's efforts remain to maintain its second position after strengthening it with a difficult victory over the Faroe Islands 1-0.

With this goal scored by Lyndon Dykes in the 86th minute, Scotland raised its score to 17 points.

Austria became the fourth with 10 points, Alvaro the fifth with four points and Moldova the last with one point out of the competition.
